Rymble was selected as the best Internet of Things ”Consumer Product”  in 2011.The competition organized by Postscapes, tried to select the best projects, ideas and companies currently working on projects that help develop the Internet of Things.

Rymble participated in the category of best “Consumer Product” competing with other reference of its kind as Olly, Nest, Sifteo, Goose Green, Twine, Botanicalls, Karotz, Withings and Little Printer.

Symplio was the only Spanish company nominated in some of the 9 categories of IOT Postscapes Awards. The competition was open from November 22 until Friday December 16 and in total there were over 16,000 votes distributed among the different categories: Technical Development, Enterprise Implementation, Environmental Implementation, DIY Project, Networked Art, Self Tracking Product, Desing Fiction, Open Source Project and Consumer Products.

Postscapes is a reference site in the world of Internet of Things, which seeks to meet the needs of people interested in Internet technologies. This website includes news, events, information and training material related to Internet of Things and tracks people, businesses and projects that work to mature this new trend.

Rymble fue seleccionado como el mejor “Producto de Consumo” de Internet de las Cosas en 2011. El concurso organizado por Postscapes, pretendía seleccionar a los mejores proyectos, ideas y empresas, que actualmente trabajan en proyectos que contribuyen a desarrollar el Internet de las Cosas.

Rymble participó en la categoría de “Productos de Consumo” compitiendo con otros productos de referencia en su género como: Olly, Nest, Sifteo, Green Goose, Twine, Botanicalls, Karotz, Withings y Little Printer.

Symplio fue la única empresa española nominada en algunas de las 9 categorías del IOT Awards de Postscapes. La competición estuvo abierta desde el pasado 22 de noviembre hasta el viernes 16 de diciembre y en total se recibieron más de 16 mil votos repartidos en las diferentes categorías:  Technical Development, Enterprise Implementation, Enviromental Implementation, DIY Project, Networked Art, Self Tracking Product, Desing Fiction, Open Source Proyect y Consumer Products.

Postscapes es una web de referencia en el mundo de Internet de las Cosas, que busca atender las necesidades de las personas interesadas en las nuevas tecnologías de Internet. Este sitio web recoge noticias, eventos, material informativo y formativo relacionado con Internet de las Cosas y hace seguimiento a las personas, empresas y proyectos que trabajan en madurar esta nueva tendencia.

A year ago we began to travel the road of designing product experiences, merging the physical world with the Internet and today we can say that we are very pleased of all the work we have done all these months and all we have achieved in just one year.

We are 100% confident about the path we want to explore and so we mainly develop “social objects”, that is to say, products using the information on Internet to be smarter and more collaborative, transforming the user’s environment in a more personal and emotional space. A few months ago we announced our first product, “Rymble” an object that brings the social networking experience to the real world.

The news of the announcement of Rymble achieved great impact on international media, mainly in the U.S., China, France, Italy and the UK. We got thousands of video views and visits to the website of Rymble, hundreds of mentions on Twitter and Facebook as well as many positive comments about the product.

After obtaining the market evidence needed to take Rymble to a next step, now in a re-design for industrialization process in collaboration with our partners, with the aim of improving the user experience and the value proposition to our customers.

Today in our anniversary we want to thank everyone who supported us and who have believed and trusted us. We are going to continue working hard to achieve our goals. Soon we will have more news of projects we have been developing in recent months. Hace ya un año comenzábamos a transitar por el camino de diseñar experiencias de productos, fusionando el mundo físico con el Internet y hoy podemos decir que nos sentimos muy satisfechos de todo el trabajo que hemos hecho durante todos estos meses y de todo lo que hemos logrado en tan sólo un año.

Tenemos muy claro el camino que queremos explorar y por eso nos hemos dedicado principalmente a desarrollar “objetos sociales”, es decir, productos que usan la información de Internet para ser más inteligentes y más colaborativos, transformando el entorno del usuario en un espacio más personal y emocional. Hace unos meses atrás anunciamos nuestro primer producto, “Rymble”, un objeto que traslada la experiencia en las redes sociales al mundo real.

La noticia del anuncio de Rymble logró gran repercusión en medios de comunicación internacionales, principalmente en Estados Unidos, China, Francia, Italia y Reino Unido. Obtuvimos miles de reproducciones del vídeo y visitas al sitio web de Rymble, cientos de menciones en Twitter y Facebook, así como muchísimos comentarios positivos acerca del producto.

Tras obtener las evidencias de mercado que necesitábamos para llevar a Rymble a una siguiente fase, ahora se encuentra en un proceso de re-diseño para su industrialización en colaboración con nuestros partners, con el objetivo de mejorar la experiencia de usuario y la propuesta de valor a nuestros clientes.

Hoy que estamos de aniversario queremos agradecer a todas las personas que nos han apoyado y que han creído y confiado en nosotros. Seguiremos trabajando duro para lograr nuestros objetivos. Which of the presidential candidates is the most popular on Twitter?, Who has more mentions?, Who share content more often?

Taking advantage of the next call for general elections in Spain, we wanted to make a curious experiment with Rymble. We wanted to show that Rymble has many different applications and as an example we decided to connect it to Twitter to measure the activity and influence of the candidates for the  presidency of Spain in the social network, reflected in a physical object.

So we decided to make a skin for Rymble to monitor the elections activity in real time in Twitter, related to the two leading candidates for the  presidency of Spain, Mariano Rajoy and Alfredo P. Rubalcaba, to determine the evolution of its popularity in the social network.

The idea of ​​this new theme is to demonstrate the possibilities  and the potential of Rymble to adapt to different subjects according to particular needs and interests. This time we chose the election issue by the proximity of the event and because it is closely linked to social networks, one of the most popular means for political propaganda by the immediacy and the disintermediation of the message, and also by the participation and interest, that awaken the subject of elections.

We have created a website to display graphically the level of activity in Twitter for both candidates in real time: Twitelecciones.com. On this page you will find two graphs in which you can see the number of tweets with mentions of the candidates in every moment, and a historical record of the activity that occurs daily in the social network associated with them.

Symplio introduced Rymble in the second edition of the event Euskadi Emprende last Wednesday held at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre. Euskadi Emprende -event organized by the business development agency of Basque Governance- aims to encourage entrepreneurial activity and provides opportunities and resources to start new projects.

Symplio had a booth space in the Hall of Business, in which were exhibited more than seventy entrepreneurial projects, including Rymble, with the intention of making them known and briefly give visitors the essence of each idea.

Symplio presentó a Rymble en la segunda edición del evento Euskadi Emprende celebrado el pasado miércoles en el Bilbao Exhibition Centre. Euskadi Emprende -evento organizado por la agencia de desarrollo empresarial del Govierno Vasco- tiene el objetivo de impulsar la actividad emprendedora y facilitar oportunidades y recursos para poner en marcha nuevos proyectos.

Symplio tuvo espacio en un stand en el Salón de Negocios, en el cual se exhibieron más de setenta proyectos emprendedores, entre ellos Rymble, con la intención de darlos a conocer y exponer brevemente a los visitantes la esencia de cada idea.

We are very happy to announce that the recent official launch of Rymble made a great impact on media in China, USA, France, Italy, UK and others. Several reports, reviews, interviews and news published by international mainstream media in Internet issues, technology, social networking and new trends, realize the positive impact it had Rymble in the Americas, Europe and Asia.

After hard weeks of intense work we are pleased to announce that we have listed the second version of the Rymble prototype. It was a hard work but was worth it. This new version has several technical and functional improvements, as well as a much more modern and edgy look than the first prototype.

In this second version, we have built a system that allows 360 degrees rotation, which enables Rymble to have more useful functions. We also added a button so that users can easily interact with their Rymble (sending data back to the network). We added a multicolor LED to this button to provide an additional visual feedback about notifications or alerts in the social network.

We also designed a larger base to provide room for all the electronics, giving it an appearance far more representative of a decorative object connected to the Internet.

We also expanded the size of the 3D icons and change the mechanism for changing the skins of the Rymble. Unlike the previous version, the skins of this new Rymble are formed by two parts: a rotating disc and an outer ring with 3D icons.

Tras arduas semanas de intenso trabajo nos sentimos contentos de anunciarles que ya tenemos lista la segunda versión del prototipo del Rymble. Ha sido un trabajo duro pero ha valido la pena. Esta nueva versión, que funciona al igual que el primer prototipo con tecnología Wifi, tiene varias mejoras técnicas y funcionales, además de un diseño mucho más moderno y vanguardista que el primer prototipo.

En esta segunda versión, hemos incorporado un motor que permite un giro de 360 grados, lo que hace que el Rymble tenga mucha más capacidad de movimiento y muchas más funciones útiles. Además hemos añadido un botón para que el usuario pueda facilmente interactuar con su Rymble y configurar la información que desea que éste refleje. En este botón se enciende una luz que alerta cuando recibes una nueva notificación o hay algún cambio en tu Red Social.

Diseñamos una base más grande para colocar dentro todos los componentes electrónicos que hacen que Rymble funcione y cambiamos totalmente la forma, dándole una apariencia mucho más representativa de un objeto decorativo, conectado a Internet y ligado a una temática en particular.

También ampliamos el tamaño de los íconos en 3D y modificamos el mecanismo para cambiar los skins y perzonalizar al Rymble. A diferencia de la versión anterior, este nuevo Rymble, tiene un indicador integrado a un disco giratorio central alusivo a un tema y un anillo externo con los íconos en 3D.  Aquí les dejamos algunas imágenes de cómo luce el nuevo Rymble a ver qué les parece!

Hemos editado un pequeño video para mostrar rapidamente el concepto sobre el que se basa Rymble. La idea es simple, pero atractiva: Algo pasa en Facebook, Rymble se mueve!

We are pleased to announce that we have the first prototype of Rymble ready. We decided to use the theme of Facebook for our idea of ​​integrating real-world with social networks and reflect on our Rymble activities that occur in your personal profile on Facebook.

Estamos muy contentos de anunciarles que ya tenemos listo el primer prototipo del Rymble. Decidimos utilizar el tema de Facebook por nuestra idea de integrar el mundo real con las redes sociales y reflejar en Rymble las actividades que se producen en tu perfil personal de Facebook.

Esta primera versión consiste en una plataforma circular con un motor giratorio de 180 grados, un disco alusivo al tema de Facebook y una serie de íconos personalizables y en tercera dimensión, los cuales indican acciones distintas que se pueden producir en el estado del perfil de tu red social.
